Nestled on the serene corner of 32nd Avenue S, this distinguished Mount Baker residence seamlessly blends the timeless allure of Craftsman architecture with an exquisite showcase garden, meticulously curated over many years.
Be instantly charmed by fine details like the wide and welcoming covered porch, interior picture rail mouldings, wide hallways, classic Bachelder fireplace surround, and windowed mahogany pocket doors. Separate formal dining and living rooms elevate the main floor, with verdant garden views from every window, this is a no-less-than-wonderful home to entertain in.
The kitchen is outfitted with an abundance of cabinetry, gorgeous Brazilian Quartzite countertops, and stainless steel appliances. Completing the main floor are two fabulous day rooms; perfect for use as either office, den, or guest room — both finished with solid wood built-ins. Upstairs are three large bedrooms, all equipped with Cherry Creek windows, including a King-sized primary suite with views of Mount Rainier and a stunningly skylit, renovated bathroom and large, walk-in closet. The daylight basement, with full ceiling height, offers a great opportunity for recreation room and/or home gym, and has direct access to the backyard. With living spaces spanning three full floors, there is truly no wasted space across this entire home.
As if the interior weren't enough, perhaps the main event is saved for the unbelievably picturesque garden; stretching across the southwest corner of South Lander Street and 32nd Avenue S is a granite rock wall featuring a variety of native plants, low vegetation, and beautiful Sunset Maple trees throughout the sidewalk gardens. From the back of the house, double french doors flow directly into the tranquil backyard, including an attached deck, landscaped patio, and a large roof deck, just under the shade of a quaking Aspen tree — all with pleasant views of the garden and neighboring South Lander Street. A full-sized, detached garage is just below.
Wonderful and rare upgrades throughout including a gas fireplace on the main floor, new crawl space and vapor barrier, new upstairs windows and french doors on main, exterior and interior painting, new concrete entryway steps and lighting, new electrical panel, storm windows, and recently updated kitchen and upstairs bathroom… and much, much more.
All of this, just two blocks from the entrance to Mount Baker Park, Light Rail, Lake Washington, and a short commute to both Downtown Seattle and Bellevue. This is truly the best of living in Mount Baker.
